Commercially pure Titanium or alloyed Titanium
The four commercially pure titanium grades cover a tensile strength range from 290 to 740 N/mm2. The different properties are mainly achieved by varying the oxygen content. With increasing oxygen content tensile strength and hardness increase while toughness decreases.
To attain higher strength values accompanied by good toughness or specific properties, titanium is alloyed with other materials. The strength values achieved by alloying go beyond 1200 N/mm2.
Palladium- and nickel-molybdenum-alloyed titanium exhibits better corrosion resistance than commercially pure titanium.
